At The William Allitt School all food cooked on-site is prepared by our qualified and experienced catering team, led by our Catering Manager, Jane Fairbrother. Students have a choice of 2 cafeterias serving a wide selection of fare at morning break and lunch time.
The Senior Hall provides a delicious, varied and nutritional lunch for students and staff with the menus rotating on a 4 week cycle. There is an extensive choice of freshly cooked food on offer daily. The lunchtime menu includes a choice of three hot meals including a vegetarian choice, a salad bar, homemade soup, fresh baked bread, four dessert options plus fresh fruit and yoghurts. Items can be purchased individually or as part of a Meal Deal (Main meal, dessert and a drink) for added value.
In addition to our weekly menus, we also have a number of themed menus linked to particular dates and events, for example Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day and a pancake bar for Shrove Tuesday.
The Junior Hall provides a lighter option, which includes a selection of pre-packed sandwiches, made to order baguettes, pasta pots, salad bar, fruit, snacks and drinks.
At break the Senior Hall is open for students to purchase a wide range of snacks and drinks including pizza, baguettes and bacon cobs.
The Junior Hall is also open serving croissants, crumpets, pasta pots and more.
Breakfast is available from 07.30 until 08.25 in the Senior Hall with a wide choice available daily including; cereals, toast, croissants, bacon cobs, fresh fruit and yoghurt.
