Homework will be set by the classroom teacher in line with the published homework timetable and the particular scheme of work that they are studying.

In addition, on a weekly basis, Year 8 students should read a range of fiction and autobiographical writing for at least 20 minutes each evening. In the autumn term, they should also be reading and researching contextual information around the First World War and researching the war poets that they are studying.

Computing:

Kodu Game Lab - Unlike the other websites, with Kodu it requires downloading and installing to a computer to be able to access it at home. Kodu is a 3D game making software for PC and Xbox that lets you create worlds and characters with ease. On the website and inside the software are many tutorials that students can investigate or can just play around with the software and see what they can discover.
